DESCRIPTION OF THE AYURVEDIC I CLASS:
I teach a basic history of Ayurveda, including an introduction of the intricate art of Dosha (or typing) method. We will go over some of the Sanskrit terms that are used.
I love the oils and flow of this sequence – which is practical, and can easily be used as deep healing tools and / or also, turned into a ‘spa’ experience for your clients or the techniques can be interspersed in your own sequence. I want to give you a grounded education of this extensive body of ancient and important work (not just bodywork), which may leave you wanting to study more Ayurveda education–

Karen sky Miller: Bio (short story):
Beginning with Lic. Massage Therapy:
Since 1987, I have been a licensed massage therapist in Nashville, TN, also a CE provider with NCBTMB, since 1999.
I have cultivated an eclectic style using tools from my extensive education and experiences with meditation, visualization, Reiki, Deep Tissue, use of stones, and (mind body) somatic work.
I began my studies in Ayurveda in 1995 with Dr. David Frawley's extensive correspondence course. Dr Frawley, who is founder & director of the American Institute of Vedic Studies. I then studied at the New England Institute of Ayurveda– and, after graduating in 1997, continued my studies in Rishikesh, India where I became one of the first graduates of the Rishikesh College of Ayurveda in 2000. Most recently I studied with Dr. Vasant Lad, taking his 38 hr. Intuitive Pulse Practicum course at the Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine in Albuquerque, NM .
I taught at the Natural Health Institute in Nashville, TN for 13 years– until the shcool closed. In 1999, drawing from my knowledge of massage and Ayurveda to create a course in Ayurvedic Massage for the School. I am a NCBTMB Continuing Education Provider(#158492-00) since 1999.
I also bring something only life can teach us. Through my struggles with PAN (polyarteritus nodosa), a serious blood vessel disease, I learned to view – life out of balance– as a gift which can bring a deep learning and shift in consciousness. This invaluable gift gives my life and work a more profound meaning.
As you can see by my site, I am a visual artist, a longtime meditator, Animal lover & bodyworker who works in Nashville– out of my office : Blueflower Bodywork & Art Studio.
Classes can be taught in you own area !
Nothing is ever lost with education !
